The Belvedere is a tailored waistcoat perfect for formal occasions. The waistcoat features a curved back seam, long darts for a great tailored fit and a back neckline facing. This pattern includes two variations. Variation 1 includes welt pockets, a fully canvassed front and side seam vents. Variation 2 is a simpler look and suitable for beginners. This version features no pockets and uses simplified construction techniques.

Recommended Fabrics: Main fabric: Light to medium weight suiting fabrics including wool, linen or blends. Unconventional fabrics can also be used such as upholstery, corduroy, sturdy knit fabrics, canvas or denim.
Lining options: 1. choose the same fabric for the lining and back. Select a good quality lining material as lining will be visible on the exterior, such as Bemberg rayon lining fabric 2. Use lining fabric for the waistcoat interior and contrast fabric such as satin, linen or cotton for the back. 3. Use lining fabric for the waistcoat interior and the main fabric for the waistcoat back.
