The August Jacket pattern features two distinct finishes that are both designed to highlight the jacket's strikingly unique architectural shape.
The Bound version is designed for pre-quilted or heavy weight coating fabric. The belt is a bias-covered rope that helps accentuate the jacket's 3D shape. The outer sleeve binding is optional and the jacket can be sewn with a second tie at pocket height to wear the jacket without a belt.
The Faced version is designed for heavy weight denim or canvas and is finished with full facing that can be cut from the main fabric or a contrast fabric. The patch on pockets are a unique upside down arch shape and the jacket is topstitched for a utilitarian style.

Recommended Fabrics: For the bound version: pre or DIY quilted fabrics, or blanket weight coating. If making your own bias binding, light weight fabrics like poplin are recommended.
The lined version of the jacket is designed for 300 gsm or higher denim, duck canvas, or canvas fabrics. For ease in sewing use a lighter fabric like cotton poplin or lighter weight twill for the facings.
