Collection: Ramie Fabric

Ramie is a natural fibre, biodegradable and sustainable textile made from a non-stinging Nettle plant. It's a breathable textile that has been used to make clothing for 100s of years. In modern times, manufacturers use a similar process of turning Flax into Linen as they do to turn the Nettle plant into Ramie fabric. Similar to Linen, once harvested, uneven sized fibers are woven together to create Ramie fabric and this gives the weave interesting depth and texture.

Ramie is also a super strong fibre, making it durable, long wearing and not easily wrinkled! It's often low drape and works well with structured garments like dresses, trousers and jackets. It is beautiful to the touch, has a lovely sheen and is straightforward to sew.

In short, there are so many things to love about the Ramie fabric. We can't wait for you to check it out.
