Essex Canvas is the heaviest of our Essex line up. With a heavier weight per square meter and a lower drape, this sturdy midweight canvas is the perfect weight for sewing more structured garments. Suiting patterns that call for a low drape, such as wide leg pants and workwear inspired jackets would be a great match for Essex Canvas, as it hangs further away from the body, keeping its shape and volume. This blend is both breathable and durable, with a beautiful woven texture, making it a great choice for your sewing projects.
This Essex is also a yarn dyed fabric, meaning that the fibres that make up the fabric are dyed and then woven together. This gives the fabric a soft, low drape, as well as allowing a heathered colour.
