Class Policies

The majority of classes at Spool of Thread are limited to 6 students for best instruction. Occasionally, classes do fill to 8 students.

A minimum of 4 students is required for a class. Each student has full access to our sewing machines during class times. 1 sewing machine can not be shared by 2 students.

A minimum age of 16 is required for our classes, unless otherwise noted. Our Teen Classes are for students 12 and older.

To ensure the best instructors, we require at least a 50% non-refundable and non-date transferable to hold your seat in the class. Full payment is due on or before the class date.

To register, please stop by the shop or call us at 604-879-3031. Payment can be accepted over the phone with a Visa or Mastercard.

COVID + FLU POLICY - Prior to attending the class, please assess how you are feeling and those closest to you. If you or anyone close to you are feeling unwell, have a fever, sore throat or congestion, please contact us at 604-879-3031 to make alternative plans for your class.

Wearing a mask is encouraged during a class. If you do not currently have a mask, or forget one, free disposable masks are available at Spool of Thread.

Prior to the class, we will email you a full list of materials required. Materials and supplies are not included in the class fee unless otherwise noted. All supplies required for all sewing classes can be purchased from Spool of Thread.

Please note, our class completion times are estimates. Due to class size and skill of students, classes may finish early or slightly late.

If a class is canceled by Spool of Thread, your deposit will be fully refunded or the dollar amount applied to another class or store credit.
