Befriending a sewing machine has never been easier! Our Sewing 101 classes will help your Teen learn how to use a sewing machine, get comfortable and confident! Perfect for students who have little to no sewing experience, this class will start at the beginning and cover good practices for threading, stitching and cutting fabric. Once they've become acquainted with the ins and outs of sewing, we will apply these skills to construct a Throw Pillow, reversible Tote Bag, Apron, Fabric Bucket, Zippered Pouch Set.
Not only will they impress you with their handmade projects, they will have the skills to make many more!
Age: Teen, ages 12 and older
Time: 15 hours, 5 sessions

Prerequisites: None
Skills Learned:
- Sewing machine basics (threading, winding a bobbin, backstitching, etc.)
- Basic construction + terminology
- Good practices for sewing
- Understanding of Interfacing
- How to insert a zipper
