Our 101 Teen Sewing Class is designed for students aged 12+ without previous sewing experience or for students looking to advance their beginning sewing knowledge. Throughout the class, students will learn to sew and make projects from four of our most popular sewing classes: a Tote Bag, Fabric Bucket, Zippered Pouch and Fraser Sweatshirt (adjustable for all genders) plus with information from our Sewing Machine 101 classes for students that are new to sewing!
By taking our Teen Sewing, students will gain confidence using the sewing machine, work with patterns and learning fun sewing skills like working with interfacing and common sewing pattern terminology .
Skill level: Beginner
- sewing machine basics (threading, winding a bobbin, backstitching, etc.)
- how to draw a simple pattern
- how to use a paper pattern
- basic construction + terminology
- how to use interfacing
- sewing a gusset
- sewing a zipper
