The Avery collection slinked into the store this week and wowed us with its smooth moves! This collection is woven from a blend of viscose and linen, creating a beautiful fabric with a wonderfully soft and silky feel.
If you're already familiar with our popular Ella Noil collection - also a viscose-linen blend - Avery has a slightly higher viscose content (85% versus 70% in Ella) and is lighter in weight. Avery also has a smoother hand compared to the slubby texture of Ella.
It probably goes without saying that we love gorgeous colours here at Spool of Thread, and this collection certainly doesn't disappoint! We currently have nine dreamy colours of Avery to choose from, including deliciously rich browns, delicate soft pink, as well as luxurious teal.
With its lovely drape, we recommend using Avery for more flowy garments. If you are newer to garment sewing, we think this fabric would be great for a fun Rae Skirt or classic Ogden Cami. For more experienced sewists, we think Avery would make some wonderfully swishy Arenite pants (below) or a stunning Holyoke maxi dress.
We hope that you fall for this collection as much as we have! We would love to see what you make with these smooth threads so don't be shy in sharing with our community on Instagram using #Spoolofthread.
